Lake Mburo national park is in a wetland and acacia grassland around lake Mburo sustain a number of herbivores Situated between the towns of Masaka and Mbarara, this comparatively small park(256 sq.km)is composed primarily of wetland ,grassland and acacia woodland Also sustain with number of animals in the park including impala, eland, zebra, buffalo, warthog, rock hyrax, leopard, civet, hyena, hippo and crocodile. There are also over 357 species of birds including the marabou stock and the crowned crane

Lake Mburo national park lies in a rain shadow between Lake Victora and the Rwenzori mountains and receives an average of 800mm of rain a year. Being near the equator the rain pattern is bimodal with the long rains occurring from February to June and short rains from September to December. The rain is rather erratic temperature is 27.5°c with daily variations ranging from 21.5°c to 34.0°c July and august are the hottest months.
